MSNs Mis-Travels
by Cory Rauch 2006-11-15 Category: Software-Bugs

I cover a re-occurring issue with the MSN travel site, where it gives you faulty driving directions. This time I have pictures.

If you have to travel a lot for business or fun (even better) most likely you have used the MSN Travel site at least once. And for the most part it does a good job of offering everything travel related in one spot. But be forewarned of its driving directions feature, which uses Microsoft Mapping software. Just go to "Driving Directions" under the tools menu on the MSN Site, then hit Get Directions. And enter a start and end address, I have used as an example the address of Yankee Stadium (161st St & River Ave, Bronx, NY) and Shea stadium (123-01 Roosevelt Ave, Flushing, NY). But if you wait about 10 minutes (lets say you where reading over the directions) and hit print or print the directions multiple times. You will a print out with the correct map but wrong start and end address and directions. You can see how this might put a damper on your travels. Pictures below:

Now if I wait and hit print notice the map is correct but the directions / address are not. Try it for yourself.
